With all the changes in the EV market, let’s quickly update the situation. There are many deals stacked up throughout Maine this Fall.
Recently, GM and Ford eased off their massive EV expansion plans after slowing sales and continued losses in their EV sectors. Even Tesla, the only auto manufacturer to make a profit in EV production and sales, is experiencing slowing sales. Despite increases in charging availability, (public and private) a slight decrease in consumer demand has emerged.
EV sales through spring 2023 were up 50% from 2022 and electrical vehicles now make up 8% of all new cars sold. With ongoing federal and state EV tax credits and rebates and reduced sticker prices, many deals exist. Check your local dealers’ sites for availability and pricing, as competition has brought prices down for consumers.
